Melissa Sharma '13

Melissa Sharma

Melissa Sharma graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Biometry and Statistics. She currently works as a senior consultant and actuary at Aon's Global Benefits practice.

What do you remember most about your time as a student in Ithaca? My growth as both a student and as an adult. Cornell afforded me with many opportunities to expand my boundaries and thrive outside of my comfort zone.

Where do you work now, and what do you do? I work for Aon's Global Benefits practice. As a Senior Consultant and Actuary, I manage employee benefits, streamline operations, and develop global benefits strategies for multinational corporations.

How did your Cornell education prepare you in your current role? My Cornell education positioned me to be a leader.

What advice would you give to current statistics students about working in the industry or academia? Don't be afraid to challenge the status quo and think for yourself!
