Sabyasachi Chatterjee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined UIUC in Fall 2017. Before this, he was a Kruskal Instructor in the Department of Statistics at University of Chicago where he was mentored by Professor John Lafferty. Sabyasachi completed his Ph.D. in June 2014 in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Yale University where his dissertation advisor was Professor Andrew Barron.
His research interests include Non Parametric Function Estimation, Statistical Signal Processing, Resampling Methods such as Cross Validation, Statistical Learning Theory and Online Learning Theory.
