Friday, September 9, 2022

Jon Kleinberg, the Tisch University Professor of Computer Science, will be a featured plenary speaker at this month’s Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Conference on Mathematics of Data Science in San Diego.

SIAM MDS22 is a conference that provides a forum to present work that advances mathematical, statistical, and computational methods in the context of data and information sciences. Kleinberg’s talk will take place on Wednesday, September 28.

A leading authority on computer algorithms and networks, Kleinberg tackles issues at the interface of networks and information, with an emphasis on the social and information networks that underpin the web and other online media.

Earlier this year, he was appointed by the U.S. Department of Commerce to serve on a newly established committee that will advise the U.S. president on issues related to artificial intelligence.
