Two doctoral students from Statistics and Data Science were individually recognized for their research excellence by the American Statistical Association.
Grace Deng received the 2021 American Statistical Association Business and Economic Statistics Student Paper Award for her paper, "GANS for Missing Data Imputation and Learning-to-Rank." Along with receiving a cash prize, Deng will present her award-winning research at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) 2021 in a Topic-Contributed session.
Elsewhere, Haoxuan (Peter) Wu is among the 10 recipients of the American Statistical Association's 2021 Section on Bayesian Statistical Science student paper competition. The winners were selected from 69 submissions.
