Each year, the distinction of Merrill Presidential Scholar is given to a select group of Cornell's top students who exhibit intellectual vigor, leadership skills and the potential to help society. Among all 2019 Cornell graduates, one of those 34 scholars included a recent graduate of the Statistical Science program – Ronni Mok.
Mok received a bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistical Science this May. In this Q&A with Economics, she encouraged students to "take advantage of all the resources around you."
As part of the Merrill President Scholar recognition, each scholar recognizes a guiding high school teacher and Cornell faculty member who inspired them. Mok – from Taipei, Taiwan – invited Thomas Drake of The Hotchkiss School and Thomas DiCiccio from Statistics and Data Science.
