David Matteson, associate professor of statistics and data science and social statistics, has launched an open access, international journal highlighting original research at the intersection of science and data science.
Data Science in Science aims to advance new ideas for experimental and observational data-driven learning and discovery, data science models, algorithms, and workflows, and new practices for scientific reproducibility and replicability enabled through data science.
The journal will be published annually through Taylor & Francis.
The publication’s leadership includes many scholars from Cornell’s Department of Statistics and Data Science: Matteson is the founding editor-in-chief; five post graduate researchers serve as assistant editors, and six professors serve on the editorial board – Sumanta Basu, assistant professor of statistics and data science; Joe Guinness, associate professor of statistics and data science; Amy Kuceyeski, adjunct associate professor of statistics and data science; Shawn Mankad, assistant professor of operations, technology and information management; Elizabeth Sweeney, assistant professor in the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Weill Cornell Medicine, and Martin Wells, chair of statistics and data science and the Charles A. Alexander Professor of Statistical Sciences.
