This fall, Cornell's Department of Statistics and Data Science welcomes Kengo Kato, who joins the department as an associate professor.
Most recently a member of the Faculty of Economics at The University of Tokyo, Kato’s research fields are mathematical statistics, econometrics, and economic statistics with a focus on high dimensional statistical and econometric models. He was a visiting scholar in the Department of Economics at MIT and is the associate editor of the Japanese Economic Reviewand the Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference.
Kato is one among seven new hires within Cornell Computing and Information Science this fall.
