This week's Statistics Seminar Speaker will be Johannes Lederer, who is the Jacob Wolfowitz Visiting Professor in the Department of Statistical Science at Cornell.
Talk Title: Correlations and Other Neglected Issues in Statistics
Abstract: We will discuss correlations in high dimensional regression settings. We will discuss in particular the relation of correlations to other aspects and methods of high dimensional statistics, such as multi-stage procedures and the Square-Root Lasso, as well as its relation to other fields, such as empirical process theory and robust statistics.
Refreshments will be served after the seminar in 1181 Comstock Hall.
