Fall or spring. 4 credits. Next offered 2014-2015. Staff.The course provides an overview of a number of famous philosophical puzzles and paradoxes and important attempts to solve them. Among the paradoxes that may be discussed are Zeno’s paradoxes of space, time and motion; the paradox of the heap; the liar paradox; Russell’s set-theoretic paradox; and various paradoxes concerning knowledge and rationality.
