On April 24, more than 250 students, faculty, and staff gathered for the annual Belonging Awards, hosted by the Office of Belonging at Bowers in partnership with Association of Computer Science Undergraduates (ACSU), Women in Computing at Cornell (WICC), and Underrepresented Minorities in Computing (URMC). The celebration recognized individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science community.

 

Faculty Awards

Faculty of the Year Award  

The Faculty of the Year Award honors Bowers faculty members who demonstrate exemplary dedication to enriching the undergraduate experience.

 

Teaching Excellence: Acknowledges an individual who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to teaching, mentoring, and empowering others to reach their full potential with Cornell Bowers.

Student Awards

The Belonging Awards for students honor undergraduate and graduate students for excellence in entrepreneurship, innovation, academic achievement, social impact, and community engagement.

 

Inspiring Futures Award: Acknowledges an individual who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to mentorship, inspiring and empowering others to reach their full potential with Cornell Bowers.

Academic Excellence & Innovation Award: Recognizes a student whose academic achievements and innovative contributions to research, projects, or coursework have had a lasting impact on the tech field and within Cornell Bowers.

Social Impact & Service Award: Honors a student who has made a meaningful difference in their community through service, outreach, or advocacy initiatives within the tech field and Cornell Bowers.

In addition to the awards program, the evening featured Dinner with the Deans, giving students the chance to connect with the dean, associate deans, and faculty in a relaxed, conversational setting. The celebration concluded with the Bowers Formal – a vibrant, high‑energy event with a live DJ, photo booth, and mocktails.
